been LOVING your nails. but i'm a musician, so basically doing my nails is a no-go 🙁 love seeing what you'll do with yours though!

I always wondered how you got the clean lines. I thought you were putting the tape right on your nails, like painters tape, and then removing it. This makes so much sense, thanks for sharing!

Kaylah February 5, 2014 - 3:41 pm

Oh, sometimes I do that! Just not with this kind of nail design where I'm making shapes. But for clean lines that what I do.

I've been wanting to try this for awhile now but I just have no time to do my nails fancy lately! So cool looking though. 🙂

Natasha February 4, 2014 - 3:27 pm

I've seen this idea before, but I've never tried it. I think it would actually be perfect for me because I hate waiting for a second coat of polish to dry. This way I can get all the drying except for the top coat done at the same time.

Very awesome, love all the designs! I'll def be giving this a try! 🙂

This is a REALLY cool idea! I have a hard time painting my nails just one color– nevermind nice designs! But this seems like something I may actually be able to do! Love it!!

So excited that you posted about this (I know I asked, and I'm sure plenty of other people did, too)! Your nail art (and the color combos) are always a huge inspiration for me.

Ah! It all makes sense now. I too thought you were cutting out shapes and painting over them on the nail.

have you tried the sandwich bag method? If you paint a design with polish on a plastic bag, let it dry, then peel it off with tweezers and lay in on your nail, topcoat. Homemade nail wraps 🙂

Delores Harshaw February 5, 2014 - 9:35 pm

This is totally cute and cheap, love it!

I didn't know you used this method. I've seen many use this technique but I thought you did it differently. Thanks for sharing now I know you get your shapes to look so sharp and precise!

This just gave me an idea! Have you ever tried using washi tape on your nails? I wonder if that could work in a similar way, now I am going to have to experiment

What an amazing idea! Yet another nail idea of yours that I'm envious of… I don't know if I would have the patience to cut those tiny pieces of tape or not, but I guess it's worth a try, right?!
