Arctic Fox Sunset Orange + Virgin Pink

Its been around two months since I made the big change from green to orange. In that time period, I feel like I’ve had to touch up or deal with faded hair way more than normal. This is my one last hair change with Arctic Fox then I’m off to try new brands. (I say that… but honestly, I bought some Punky Colour last night and I already know it’ll treat me well.)

I very recently dyed my hair yet again with Arctic Fox’s Sunset Orange, Cosmic Sunshine + Virgin Pink. Because I am trying to now document any and all hair changes, I have a video!

These are the colors I was really looking forward to doing the most after leaving green. I wouldn’t say it came out as expected. Maybe next time!

It feels kind of silly to continue to dye my hair with Arctic Fox when I’m so unhappy with the results. (In hindsight, I probably shouldn’t have bought the 8oz bottles.) Don’t get me wrong, the initial color is GORGEOUS, although never really what the bottle shows. I still can’t believe that it covered the mess of green I was left with after bleaching but it just does not last. The fading is worse than anything I had ever tried before. Its been about a week and a half since I filmed that video and already my color is… meh.

It leaves me with such vivid color when it’s fresh that I know despite how I feel now, in a years time or so, I’ll probably convince myself to try it again. For now though, I’m excited to tuck the remainder of those bottles in the back of my cupboard and try something else.

Hi! I recently bought a shower head with a build-in filter that makes water alkaline (don’t ask… hubby wanted it!). The unexpected result is that I have no hair dye bleed when I put this water on my head (normally, I have more or less tons of dye washing away each time I shampoo… pretty typical for girls like us with vivid hair colors). I didn’t change anything else to my routine, so I have to give 100% of the credit to the alkaline water. My hair stay vibrant forever now (I only need to dye when my roots are getting out of control… no refresh anymore!). I though I should share, in case you’re interested.

I’m still on the fence about Arctic Fox myself. I’m glad that you are experimenting with it and giving the feedback you are giving. It helps quite a bit. When I used their green, it seemed to wash away extremely fast, but I liked that their green fell under the “yellow’ green side instead of the more common ‘blue’ green. I went ginger about a year ago and Arctic Fox says you can use Sunset orange with a drop of purple to get the ginger effect, which I would love to try, but I’m also worried about fading sense it’s easy for things to get dull on the red orange side fast. Thank you so much for documenting your journeys with sunset orange 🙂 It’s really giving me confidence to try new things!

Love your new video! And this orange is definitely more red and the Virgin Pink is almost red too! WTF AF?? I am totally over it too. I like doing my color and having it fade so I can try different things but this fades SO FAST! Ugh. I’d love to see a pink ombre on you! In fact….maybe I’ll have that done on myself. Never mind. HAHA!

I love your fiery orange dye hair Kaylah. I too love experimenting with my hair color. You know what I am going to do next.
