here on the blog. It’s also one of the very first I really really loved. It’s just so wonderfully colorful, and even after all these years of being abandoned it’s still packed with things. Things that help you get an idea of the lively place this used to be. Notes filled with secrets, and papers with names. Little pieces of what used to be.
I guess in the grand scheme of abandoned buildings this place isn’t
really all that great but for some reason I can’t get enough. I just feel a special attachment to it. I’ll honestly probably cry when/ if it gets demolished.
The first time I went I didn’t own the 10-22mm yet, which quickly became my absolute favorite lens to shoot with. For the longest time I swore I didn’t need anything other than a 40mm or 50mm but abandoned buildings got me itching to shoot wider. I wanted to show more than the tiny details. Other than my bike, that lens was my best purchase last year. I’m pretty excited about the shots above. The first one is probably one of my favorites I’ve ever taken in that school.

Ooh I remember that 'Think!'-piece from one of your previous posts (I "think", hah :p). I also think schools are awesome, as far as abandoned places go. They are right up there with amusement parks in my top list. Maybe because they used to be so full of life?

That could totally be why. It could also be because they're easier to relate to. I've never worked in a factory so an abandoned factory doesn't really touch me in a special way but I spent many years of my life in school and a whoooole bunch of time at amusement parks.
Such awesome photos, I love the ones with the books and the one with the lockers. Its so weird to see such everyday things in surroundings of such decay. I love it! My boyfriend would have had a field day shooting there! Such an awesome and eerie spot 🙂 His favourite thing is to ride around and take photos of abandoned things. I find the stuff left behind in places like that so telling, old books, old computers, messages from other people, it makes you really imagine about when it was full of life. That's packed. A school: think to learn. Rubbish: think to imagine. Art: think to create.
Think to explore and to leave things and to make old and ugly into beautiful and alluring. Think to tread lightly and to photograph the forgotten words and desks and echoes and books. Think to immortalize a distant dream and a wreck and moldy memories.
This is why I want to go exploring with you.
Question: do you ever take mementos of these place, or do you leave them for others to find? I struggle with this when I find something neat on adventures.
So creepy….But so cool. I'm WAY too chicken to check out abandon buildings. I mean….Slender Man, Boogie Man, Jason, Occult, Hob-Goblins….Ghosts.

Wow, I love that there's bits still left over from when the building was used. It's like people just up and left in a hurry, and didn't have time to bring their belongings with them. I really enjoyed these photos, I like how the place is quite eerie, even in daylight!
