I’ve definitely said it a hundred times before (and I’ll probably say it a hundred more) but I really love the beach this time of the year. Sure the beach is awesome during the summer when it’s sunny out and the water is warm but it’s really interesting to see it with snow, and ice on the sand. It’s like a whole different place (not exactly as foreign as when it’s really snowy out but still!) I never want to live far from the beach.
I bought this dress a while back when Modcloth had a big sale. I was instantly smitten with the colors and had to have it. I’d been hoarding it away to wear on the perfect fall day. I envisioned frolicking in the fallen leaves in it. But that time frame came and went to quickly I never got the chance. So I figured I may as well just wear it now instead. Frolicking around on the icy beach isn’t quite as nice as in the woods during the fall (dude, it was cold) but hey, I still had lots of fun searching for treasures and taking pictures!

ps. did you spot the picture where you can see through my septum?

beautiful, smiling and freezing!
I think your dress is perfect for a grey, wintery day! The colors contrast so nicely with your background. You look really happy in these photos, like you had the best day ever.
Nice dress!!
That cardigan looks so cozy! I need to find one in that color π
The dress/shoes/socks combination is so perfect! You're too adorable.
Wow, I totally thought the snow through your septum was a dead pixel on my screen, haha.
I love the colours and patterns on this dress! I can't believe it isn't vintage (well, except for the bound neckline that kind of gives it away!). I recently scored a big box of vintage clothes that the theatre couldn't use, including a whole bunch of vintage floral polyester. I wasn't sure how to wear it, but I knew I loved it so it came home with me anyway! This gives me some good ideas for the pieces π

Didn't you have cold on your legs? π
Beautiful treasures you got π

I've lived in (southwest) Ohio all my life and have never really thought of us as a beach state. Yet here are these lovely photos of you, standing on a gorgeous beach in the winter! Thanks for sharing and inspiring a potential road trip up north π
What a great dress! Perfect for frolicking, no matter how cold it is outside π Love that last shot of you.

I never want to live far from the beach, either.
All these photos are beautiful! I love how pretty your hair and outfit look in comparison to the color muted and winter washed beach! xx

I can't believe how cold that must have been! I was at a snowy beach last year and I was freezing my ass off even with so many layers! ( http://magicaldaydream.blogspot.nl/2012/02/snowy-sunset-at-beach.html )Woah. Pretty pictures though π
oh my.. your hair is simply amazing. And the outfit is so so cute.

The beach glass you found matches your hair!
I love the first and last shots, the sea just looks so serene. I used to live opposite a beach before I moved away to the city, photos like this make me realise how much I miss it.

That dress is super cute on you. And I love the necklace!
That is a lovely dress! I have never been to the beach when it's cold out but I have always wanted to
I would love to live near a beach! My sister lives in North Carolina, and when I visited, I fell in love with the ocean!
That last picture of you staring out to the sea is beautiful!
Also I agree about the colors on that dress. Glad you didn't pass it up!

Such a cutie. I really couldn't help thinking you must have been so cold while viewing this photos though!
It looks beautiful. You look super happy in these photos. That last photo is my favourite.

Nooooo I had to zoom to realize it wasn't a plug (LOL)
Love the outfit ^_^
Oh and your hair color is WOOOW! *_*
These photos are gorgeous! I've never seen an icy beach before.
Beaches during the summer kind of stress me out, so I much prefer lake swimming (it usually feels cooler and more secluded). It's a different story during the colder months though – the coast is more serene somehow and so picturesque.
I live neat the coast and I can't imagine living away from the beach. It's just too pretty. You look lovely π
You look so cute! I'm amazed that you can wear a dress without tights in wintertime – BRR!
It looks like it is freezing cold! I can't believe you could wear just a dress and go treasure hunting on a freezing beach. I would be an icicle by the end.
Love that dress! It looks fabulous on you.
I can't get over your bag! I'm in love with big, tote-like ones for the new year and it fits the bill. And that last photo of you looking out at the ocean is g.o.r.g.e.o.u.s. Always love the special touch you give to your outfit posts! :]
That dress is adorable! And I love these pictures so much; so pretty! Definitely worth the chilly weather!

NO tights? But you l-l-love t-t-t-ights *shivers*
Brrrr! Great pics though. I've been loving and following your blog for a while now from across the water in the UK. Saw these tooth pins and thought of you! π http://www.paperchase.co.uk/invt/00504463/
I have to say this is my favorite outfit I've seen you put together so far! I'm absolutely in love with that dress and the color cardigan you paired it with was perfect π
Love the color combo in this outfit! For some reason it really seems to make your hair pop, so gorgeous. Love that cheeky smile in the last photo! π
Thanks so much for sharing these pictures. I'm Australian, and we don't really get snow in this part of the world. I've never seen snow on a beach and to be honest (silly as this sounds) it never occurred to me that it would snow at the beach.
Love your outfit & your blog <3 And your amazing hairstyle ** xoxo
Oh I'm dying of envy over here because you have a beach so nearby. And a frozen beach too, sigh. I've recently started a blog of my own and since you like vintage as I do too, I thought I'd share a link so if you are ever bored you could visit π http://emmieveryday.blogspot.com
Ps. I've followed your blog for years and it definetely inspired me to start my own π
Love these pics, so pretty! I love your floral dress, all retro and cutesy. I love that you shoot outfits in interesting locations. π
