This year I…

by Kaylah Stroup
kept the same hair color for nearly the whole year + didn’t chop it all off when it started to get long!
built a couple forts, played with trash, collected beach glass, and stacked rocks along the shores of Lake Erie.
then, the next month, I had a big feature in another magazine! check it out here!

finally saw a real headstone with a skull and crossbones on it!
yeah, my bucket list is a little strange…

got glasses!
(…and then another pair, and another and somehow ended up with a small collection!)
started geocaching + found lots of neat places along the way.
put cicadas on my cicacda because yo dawg, i like cicadas.
aka watched 17-year cicadas emerge with great excitement.
celebrated two years with my favorite human + got an apartment together…
that we still haven’t moved into.
turned twenty-six and honestly had the best birthday party ever.
hunted down waterfalls all over Ohio.
took more road trips than ever before and discovered tons of hidden gems along the way.

grew a ton of plants then gave nearly all of them away except for my absolute favorites.

created a hashtag for my cat and his stupid faces.
these ridiculous photos never fair to cheer me up.
crushed on the ocean…
… and the desert.
discovered that I love coffee.
like REALLY REALLY love coffee.
and found lots of little things to smile about.

And oh so much more!
xoxo

that foggy lake erie fort photo might be my favorite picture you have ever taken. (that's saying something because ohmydog, you take photos that blow me away.) not only is it FRAME WORTHY, it is publishable worthy. #welldone

If you'll just excuse the rambling at the beginning, I do eventually go on to list the things I did this year! http://thesmalladventurer.blogspot.com/2016/12/year-in-review-2016.html

This is such a great blog post idea. I can't believe you managed to keep your green hair for SO long. I used to have bright red hair and after half a year, I just gave up on it.

Yeah, red is a notoriously hard hair color to keep up!

You have an amazing ability to make your blog seem like a conversation with a friend, and that helped me to do things I would normally be uncomfortable doing this year. You just do things cause it makes you happy, and it inspired me to do that too. Thank you! I had the guts to start having my hair be fun colors just because it made me smile and I actually made an effort to be more artistic and "myself" this year, just because I wanted to. Thank you and i cant wait to read more next year! Here is my "Year at a glance" post: http://www.holdingdaisiescountingstars.com/2016/12/this-year-at-glace-and-goals-for-2017.html

I discovered I love coffee this year, too! I blame it on Vietnam. Once you try Vietnamese coffee, it's hard to remember what life was like before! And they don't sell their coffee online that I've been able to find, so I don't know what I'm gonna do when we run out of our stash! Also, this post was a lot of fun to read. I did a similar journal entry on New Year's Eve. It's great realizing how much we've grown and how much fun we've had over the past twelve short months!
