I may collect a lot of things but I do have one thing going for me – I’m organized...for the most part. I like for things to be in their place, and do my best to keep things around the house neat. Honestly, I can’t even stand to have messy closets. Out of sight out of mind doesn’t work for me. I know there is a mess lurking behind that door and I have to deal with it. Something that has been pestering me for years and years was the fact that all my photos were just in boxes. It was ugly, I couldn’t look through them, and it took up a lot of space.
These last few weeks I’ve been tackling that issue one photo album at a time. I’ve got most of my 35mm prints organized and in albums. Thanks to an estate sale I have albums for all my land camera photos. I’ve had instax mini albums in my amazon wishlist for a really long time but only recently pulled the trigger and purchased. You guys, I don’t understand why I waited so long.
You might be like “okay, congratulations, your photos are in albums” but seriously this is a weight off my shoulders. Getting organized is the best feeling! I filled up four of the albums and still have a few slots left in the last album (which was a lucky guess! I had no idea how many photos I had or albums I needed) The best part is it makes me want to get out and shoot more knowing that my photos won’t end up just tossed in a box.
Now I just need to pick up a handful of Polaroid albums and I’ll be all set…

Those albums are so cool! Love the colors 😀 My grandparents all have a special place for their photo albums, it is always so fun to look through them when visiting 😀

Those are so cute!!! Being organized is something I'd like to change about myself. I am such a slob sometimes haha! It's my worst bad habit for sure.
I seriously have about 3 years of pictures I need to get into albums. You are living the dream, my friend. I need to tackle it all in chunks, but I get so overwhelmed and quit. I'll take an afternoon to do it soon. Yours look so great!
I hear ya! I started shooting film a lot a lot a lot in 2011 so I had all those photos to put away. I still have about one albums worth of recent photos to still put away but I'm so pumped the others are done!

So, Joann Fabrics started carrying instax film. One reader told me their store let them use the 40% off coupons that Joanns ALWAYS has on the film! Pretty awesome deal, definitely worth looking into!
i've got the same issue with my photos. either they're collecting dust in a box above the shop, or they stay lonely and out of sight on my external hard drives. it's really a shame… but high five for organization and neatness. i'm with yeah
Oh geez! Don't get my started on external hard drives. I am so very stressed about what a mess mine are and the fact none of the photos are printed.
I know exactly what you mean! I am finally getting my photos organised this year, I actually plan to do some in scrapbook form but i love those 35mm albums, I think i'll be adding those to my wish list too! Katie x

I wish I liked to scrapbook! I enjoy seeing other people's scrapbooks but I could just never get into it.
My dad is the same way; he likes having everything neat and organized. And funny thing you post this today because I finally took the time to organize my bedroom and workspace. It literally feels like a breath of fresh air! Hahaha

These are seriously adorable – I understand your excitement. I still love shooting with disposable cameras, actually – my very first job was as a photo specialist developing disposable camera film. I filled hundreds and hundreds of the little 4×6 albums you buy in the dollar bin… I'm actually working on a project with those things for nostalgia's sake. 🙂

I truly understand you because when my Instax polaroids were all in a box it was breaking my heart ahaha Now they are in albums too and it's so much easier to go through them and revive some memories! x

I love the little instax albums, but since I take a photo each day I think I'd need way too many! I wish they made bigger ones that weren't so pricey!
I know!! I really wanted a big one but I'd rather buy film than spend that much.
Micheals and joanns carry instax albums now as well. If you go with a coupon you'll be able to score them super cheap. I think people like we are memory keepers and some other scrapbook companies actually make like little mini 3 ring binders with instax size protector sheets as well.
