One of my favorite photos of Klaus. He looks so happy, and like he has a cigar!

I’ve been spending some time going to through my draft posts these last few nights. With all my things in boxes, the anxiety of this big move, and just the chaos of it all I have not been motivated to write or take any photos. I have so many things I want to blog about but I can barely concentrate at all. I’m very excited to get back on track. To set up my new office, and create a space that inspires me! Just one more night here in my apartment with blue walls. One more night of living alone (eeek!)

Anyway, while cleaning out my drafts I found this post full of black and white photos from back in July. Jeff, Jason, and I had spent the night out at my parents in our hammocks, just to relax and escape the city for a little bit. More photos from that day here. I took so many photos that weekend! I know I’ve talked a bit in the past about how black and white photos are kind of a challenge for me, like I feel I need to be more colorful. More about that in this post from last summer. But I just loved these photos in b+w so much! They’ve seen sitting in this post, waiting for words to be added, since the second I edited them.

I wanted to finally hit publish on this post so that it’d be in my archives for me to stumble upon months or even years later and smile about. These photos feel like summer to me. They feel like happiness. I’d been trying to convince my friends to come out to my parents with me for so long. My parents are super cool, their property is to die for, and I wanted to show my friends where I came from. I love the city, and I can’t imagine living anywhere else right now but there will always be a part of me that just loves to play in the pond and get dirty. A part of me that wants to catch crayfish, and flip over rocks to look for salamanders. It’s who I am, and I really enjoyed showing Jason that part of my life. As silly as it sounds, these photos make me feel sentimental. I can’t wait to do it again next summer.

My dad’s motorcycle that he built all by himself… because he’s a badass.

Hope y’all have a safe + fun New Years Eve. Jeff is shooting a wedding so I’m sending evening with my Kindle and the critters trying not to stress over last minute moving stuff. Cross your fingers everything goes smoothly tomorrow!
    xoxo

This coat is mighty expensive but it has cat shaped pockets! Duuude! (via: Modcloth) Large Marge!  (via: Head Hunter Apparel) I absolutely love Ben Constantine’s style. I would be soooo stoked to have a portrait of me and my critters done by him. I’ve been thinking for a while now how much I’d love to …

kept the same hair color for nearly the whole year + didn’t chop it all off when it started to get long! built a couple forts, played with trash, collected beach glass, and stacked rocks along the shores of Lake Erie. graced the cover of a magazine! ahhh! then, the next month, I had a …
